The Shark Tank Gets Fed

The six team National Arena League (NAL) seems to have settled into a three team race for the title. Saturday night went onto prove that even more in Jacksonville, Florida at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The Jacksonville Sharks defense had the light switched turned on all night long giving up only seven points as they demolished the predators rookie quarterback Bryan Hicks and the Orlando offense with great tackling all over the field.  The Jacksonville Sharks started the scoring with the first of several long touchdown passes as quarterback Jonathan Bane hit wide receiver Devin Wilson on a first quarter touchdown to start the scoring. Bane was 12 out of 19 passing for 142 yards and four touchdown passes before leaving the game due to an injury.  Sharks backup quarterback Mike Fafaul was seven for 13 for 142 yards and one touchdown pass in relief of Bane. It was also a great night for wide receiver Devin Wilson who had three touchdown receptions and caught eight passes for 111 yards. Other highlights for the Sharks included two touchdowns by Jarmon Fortson, who had 75 yards receiving including a touchdown grab and an fumble recovery he took to the house as well. Sharks kicker Brandon Behr had three deuces (kickoffs that go through the uprights).  A great crowd was announced as over 7,000 football fans in Jacksonville, Florida turned out for the Sharks 61 to 7 dismantling of the Orlando Predators. The Jacksonville Sharks are now four and one on the NAL season and the Orlando Predators fall to a disappointing one and four.
