Duke City Gladiators Make Switch to IFL Official!

Written by Chris Mabry – General Coverage

This Afternoon, the Duke City Gladiators have announced the move from the CIF to the IFL. From 2015-2019 the Duke City Gladiators have played in Champions Indoor Football where they have won two championship titles in the last two years. In total, they have a record of 39-20 in the regular season, 5-1 in the postseason for a grand total of 44-21 and they have won the South Conference two years in a row.

Heading into the IFL, they will face stronger opponents like the Arizona Rattlers, Green Bay Blizzard, Sioux Falls Storm, and the Iowa Barnstormers. It’s going to be an interesting transition but I believe they can make the most of it.

In the press conference, the Commishner of the IFL had this to say.”Our Goal is to make it to 16 teams. We’ve got good ones and will be adding a few others for the 2020 season.

Also in the press conference, the Gladiators coach mentioned that him and Rattlers coach Kevin Guy are good friends and that there is going to be another team coming to the IFL in the beginning of September. Be on the lookout for that information as it comes in the near future.

Congratulations on making the switch and good luck in the 2020 IFL season!
